Las Vegas & Southwest National Parks

6 days, 5 nights

***Overview content below***

Within a few hours drive of Los Angeles there are several noteworthy National Parks. Head out of the urban jungle, stopping first at Joshua Tree National Park. An enchanting place full of beauty and mystery, Joshua Tree is home to a variety of desert vegetation and wildlife. Named after its beautiful native plant the Joshua tree, Joshua Tree National Park has been preserved as a U.S. National Monument since 1936 and was finally declared a U.S. National Park in 1994. This incredible place is just over 700,000 acres, over half of which is dedicated as protected wilderness. Varying desert climates, landscapes and wildlife offers its visitor a unique experience with each visit.

Head farther east across the California, Nevada, and Arizona state borders and you’ll reach the expansive Grand Canyon. Just over 277 miles long, up to 18 miles wide and reaching a depth of just over one mile, the Grand Canyon is a Natural wonder unlike any other in the world.

Just down the Colorado River from the Grand Canyon is the Glen Canyon Dam holding back up to 24,322,000 acre feet of water. This impressive man made reservoir is known as Lake Powell. Set in the Glen Canyon National Recreation Area, Lake Powell is a popular destination for visitors from near and far. Take a cruise through its waters and experience the canyon up close and personal.

Continue the tour with tour of Monument valley. A staggering difference from the giant gorge of the Grand Canyon, the towering plateaus in Monument Valley reach up to 1,000 feet above Valley floor. Monument Valley is just within range of the Navajo Nation Reserve and is littered with Native American history.

Rounding out the tour is the equally impressive, breathtaking views of Bryce Canyon. Home to geological structures called “hoodoos” formed by wind, water and ice erosion, visitors feel as if they are visiting a new planet. These colorful spires, mixed with native wildlife and vegetation are an incredible sight; this tour truly offers experiences of a lifetime.

Finish the desert adventure at a famous desert oasis on the southernmost tip of Nevada. Embracing the nickname “Sin City,” Las Vegas is known for the “bling-bling” of lights and the “cha-ching” of slot machines. The enormous hotels and casino floors, lavish dance clubs, extravagant poolside cabanas, jaw dropping shows and unbelievable fine dining offer something for everyone.
