HOLIDAY PACKAGE
& DATES
Our six-day packages begins in San Francisco, the City by the Bay. Our getaway highlights the city’s many cultural and iconic treasures, including Golden Gate Park, Chinatown, Twin Peaks, the winding pathway of Lombard Street, and the barking sea lions and shops of Fisherman’s Wharf and Pier 39. (The deluxe packages includes an optional tour of America’s most notorious prison, Alcatraz).
You can spend a day visiting the fertile wine country of the Napa and Sonoma valleys north of San Francisco, where we’ll enjoy tastings and tours of three stunning wineries. Or, you can opt to enjoy the California coast with a full day in Carmel and Monterey. The towering redwoods of Muir Woods and quaint Sausalito, both across the bay from San Francisco, closes the week amid stunning natural beauty. San Francisco consistently dominates visitor surveys and magazine rankings of the most popular destinations in the world. But the city itself is only part of the story: the unique environment of Northern California permeates the city and the surrounding area, from the hills of San Francisco to the redwood forests to the dramatic cliffs of the Pacific Coast. One of the most unforgettable destinations in Northern California is the Yosemite Valley. We’ll spend two days and one night amidst the rugged landscapes, dramatic waterfalls, and fascinating natural formations at Yosemite National Park. There’s plenty of time for hiking, visiting the Ansel Adams Gallery, or just taking it easy in one of America’s original national parks. From the woods to the city, there’s something to please everyone with our San Francisco and Yosemite package!
San Francisco and Yosemite Holiday Package highlights
Gate to San Francisco Bay
The iconic Golden Gate Bridge is perhaps the most recognizable and photographed bridge in the world. An architectural marvel sculpted in late deco style, its distinctive red-orange span beckons to ships traveling across the Pacific. The one mile span is popular with locals too, since you can walk, jog, or bicycle across. But be sure to bring your jacket- it’s the windiest place in the bay!
Eclectic Neighborhoods
The city by the bay is justifiably famous for its diverse neighborhoods and districts, from the ethnic enclaves of Chinatown and bustling North Beach to the historic waterfront of Embarcadero and Haight-Ashbury, birthplace of hippie counterculture. Today, travelers also flock to the area South of Market (SOMA), home of cutting-edge hi-tech startups. Hungry? Line up for juicy stuffed burritos in the adjacent Mission district, the center of local Latino culture. Then stroll the Mission’s nearby alleys as you gawk at vibrant street murals… There’s a neighborhood for every taste in San Francisco!
Napa Valley
While Napa Valley may be the most renowned wine producing region in the USA, nearby Sonoma Valley is also a major source of California’s top varietals. Hundreds of vineyards of all sizes and specialties dot the rolling hills of the Sonoma and Russian River region. Whether you come to witness the harvest, soak in a spa’s natural thermal pools, dine at a Michelin-starred restaurant, or discover your new favorite winery while surrounded by natural beauty, California wine country welcomes you!
Yosemite National Park
The spectacular views in Yosemite National Park draw five million visitors annually, with most of those guests focusing on the splendors of Yosemite Valley. Peaks rise to more than 11,000 feet above sea level, supporting a broad range of ecosystems. The park covers more than 1.1 million square miles of granite cliffs, giant sequoias, and clear mountain streams, allowing you to visit a broad range of biological and botanical environments. Take a hike alongside a waterfall, float along the river in an inner tube, learn about indigenous artifacts, or just take some of the best photos of your life!
Coast Redwood Forest
Muir Woods, home of uncut, old growth coast redwoods, is only 12 miles north of San Francisco. Walking below these gentle giants, you’ll feel a calm far removed from the hustle and bustle of the city. The park rangers are happy to explain how the redwood species survive over thousands of years through fire and drought and how this national monument was created to protect them from clear cutting. Luckily, you can still take home (sustainably harvested) redwood souvenirs to remind you of this magical place.
